Unionville is home to many businesses, frequented by
residents and non-residents alike.
The Red Button and The Green Door antique shops are owned and operated by Tony Barski, a long time
Unionville resident. He offers many unique items, including an extensive collection of Coca-Cola
memorabilia. Mr. Barski's home, just up the street is one of the original Unionville homes.

The Old Tavern began as a small log cabin serving food and offering beds to weary travelers. Although it is not open at this time, it is still a landmark for our community. It had grown in size over the last century to a beautifully kept restaurant and shop. The Old Tavern was famous for its delicious home-made corn fritters served with maple syrup. While it has undergone many restorations, the Underground Railroad tunnels are still visible in the basement. In addition to serving meals daily, there were party rooms available upstairs. The upstairs ballroom was uniquely designed to reduce vibration and noise so as not to wake sleeping overnight guests.
The book Uncle Tom's Cabin is said by some to have been inspired by a story from Unionville of a slave trying to escape to Canada. He was held in the Old Tavern, but released after the trial due to political differences between the two countries.
Jerry's Unionville Garage is an important landmark in the community. While it doesn't quite date back as far as the 1800's, the exceptional personal service Jerry Barmess offers is unique and necessary to Unionville. Notice the sign sometimes says "Unionville" and sometimes says "Onionville". This is a reference to the large onion farms in the area during the 1900's.
