My mother grew up in Unionville right down County Line Rd. It was either known as the Wood, Torok, or Fortney Farm at the time, I can't remember who the original owner was, if you have any history on it, I would love to know about it. It was a big old farm on the west side, about 1/2 mile down the road, with a large slate porch and barns. Cows, grape vineyards, etc... About 300 acres in the early 1900's. The farm burned down about 30 years ago and it is now divided up with houses on it. She attend the school there in Unionville that is now used as a community center. I have a great picture of her and her classmates standing out front, it is around 1925.

I love Unionville and always loved the Unionville Tavern. I just wish someone, somewhere would restore that beautiful, historic building. I would assume that the residents there have tried to make sure it doesn't completely fall into disrepair. I would certainly do what I could to preserve it. I have many good memories of Unionville. Thank you for letting me take this opportunity to remember.
